Why do I breathe and do ice baths ?

What's the point of all these ice baths and breathwork? Yes, it helps with inflammation, sleep, etc. For me it is to keep that smile on my face.

Does it mean that I do not face hardships? Or people don't piss me off? Or I don't get annoyed at people who disrespect me or don't give me the time of the day ?

The ice teaches me to choose the uncomfortable option. When someone ignores me, the uncomfortable option is to forgive them. When someone doesn't have the time of day for me, or screams at me, or doesn't behave very lovingly to me, I have the comfortable option of reacting in a similar fashion to them, or I have the uncomfortable option of recognizing that they have a lot going on in their lives and to be patient, loving and forgiving towards them.

Ice helps me exercise the muscle in my brain to choose the uncomfortable option. Every single time.

I'm grateful that the ice continues to teach me regardless of how many times I take an ice bath, there's always another layer of meaning to the practice that I uncover.

Ultimately all tools and practices should help you become a better human - more loving, more forgiving and more patient. If it isn't doing that, then it just becomes a phase of life that you're trying something new and a couple of years later you'll just fall for another tool. Become conscious of every practice you indulge in, by becoming aware of how it is helping you become a better human. Ice baths and breathwork are definitely a part of that list too - when used properly, they can help you become a better human not just in personal health but also in the way you behave with others.
